Savage Brands was honored recently with three awards from the Houston Chapter of the International Association of Business Communicators (IABC) in its 2016 Bronze Quill Awards competition—one of the premier awards program for Houston area communicators. Winning entries reflect the best communications strategies, branding and design.
Client work recognized with the prestigious awards was for the American Heart Association (AHA) Southwest Affiliate, Diamond Offshore and Precision Drilling.
“The best reward is doing excellent work for clients to advance their communications goals and brands,” said Dahlia Salazar, Creative Director and Principal of Savage Brands. “And it is an honor when that work is recognized by communications and branding professionals to be among the best.”
Savage received an Award of Excellence for its nonprofit campaign titled “Don’t Die of Doubt” developed for AHA. The dramatic campaign directly addresses the concerns expressed by heart attack survivors to encourage them to call 911 at the onset of heart attack symptoms.
A safety branding campaign for Diamond Offshore titled “Honor Safety. Protect All.” received an Award of Merit. The safety brand has an underlying tone of an organized movement whose members are advocates for maintaining a safe working environment. It is a reflection of how Diamond Offshore delivers on its purpose and the brand continues to grow and integrate as part of the company’s culture. Additionally, this campaign garnered a Crystal Award from AMA Houston earlier this year.
Precision Drilling’s website redesign received an Award of Excellence. The responsive design was developed to enhance the user’s experience and to be more interactive and engaging by presenting content in a more appealing way. Toughneck profiles, employee testimonials and quotes from executives are all used to communicate the brand story.
The International Association of Business Communicators (IABC) is a global network of communication professionals committed to improving organizational effectiveness through strategy communication. The IABC Houston chapter is the fourth largest in the world.
