Savage Receives “Best of Show” Top Award at 2017 BMA Lantern Awards of Texas

Savage Brands captured the prestigious Best of Show award at the 2017 Business Marketing Association (BMA) Lantern Awards of Texas competition as well as three other awards for client branding work.

The Lantern Awards of Texas highlight top-quality creative and strategic business-to-business communications.

The Best of Show was awarded for Savage’s “It’s So Easy” campaign for client Champion Fiberglass. The goal was to create break-through advertising far removed from the copy-dense ads that populate the trade publication landscape. Additionally, the campaign needed to translate to digital and interactive marketing assets.

“We aimed to inspire engagement and opt-ins with a unique campaign and contest that reinforced the idea that Champion Fiberglass is “So Easy” to work with,” said Brandy Beverly, managing director of Savage Brands. “We are very proud of the positive results the campaign achieved for our client. And it is such an honor to be recognized by the BMA Houston Chapter with its top award for this work.”

Savage created an illustrated character named “Champ” and emotionally associated him with engineers who work to create safe, on-time projects every day. The approach wrapped together technological information, results-oriented creative, and a team of villainous characters that Champ defeated.

The comprehensive campaign consisted of four unique print ads, a microsite, contest, emails, web banner placements and social media.

Additionally, Savage was recognized for its work with three other clients.

The branding firm received a Lantern Award for a brochure and microsite created to raise awareness and support fundraising for the EB Research Partnership (EBRP), the largest nonprofit dedicated to funding research aimed at treating and curing Epidermolysis Bullosa (EB). An individual with EB lacks a critical protein that binds together the layers of skin. The One Day, Every Day brochure and microsite provided strong yet empathetic communication materials to help EBRP shorten the cultivation cycle for donors.

Savage received Awards of Excellence for its redesign of print materials for Workforce Solutions, and branding work for Avenue, a nonprofit organization that builds affordable housing and strengthens communities.
