Gen Z would say Steven Leeper has “RIZZ,” while Boomers might call him a “cool cat.” Either way, everyone agrees Steven is the GOAT.
Gen Z would say Steven Leeper has “RIZZ,” while Boomers might call him a “cool cat.” Either way, everyone agrees Steven is the GOAT. His belief that empathy defines humanity draws people to him, whether it’s his friends or even NBA legend Hakeem Olajuwon, who shows up (literally and figuratively) to keep him on track.
Steven’s commitment to giving back is evident in his 13 years of volunteering with the Prison Entrepreneurship Program, his guidance of kids through meaningful discussions at Restore Church, and his role as a stellar Big Brother. His 15 years of board leadership helped the Houston Chapter of the American Marketing Association secure multiple Gold Chapter wins. Steven’s mentorship is a testament to his impact on the community.
Steven is a graduate of UT and co-founded the Longhorn Amateur Wrestling League (LAW), announcing and performing as the “Siberian Fisherman” – yes, you read that right. As impressive as that is, Steven may be best known in Houston for his entrepreneurial tenure, having created, built and grown a successful boutique executive search firm, Matchstick. His career in agencies and executive search has led him to work with well-known organizations such as Microsoft, Texas Tourism, Oscar Mayer, Houston Methodist and Kinder Morgan.
As the Chief Advancement Officer, Steven combines his entrepreneurial successes with a deep desire to forge meaningful relationships with clients, helping them achieve their business goals. His role isn’t just about advancing the company’s purpose—it’s about working towards a world where his kids and others will thrive. With his deep values and drive for impact, the future is in good hands.
